Nutsche Filters for Cake Filtration & Washing of Crystalline Products
100 to 1000 litre SS304/SS316 Nutsche filters with a perforated filter plate and cloth support, used for cake filtration and washing of crystalline products under vacuum or pressure. For plants that don't need the added agitation and drying capability of a full ANFD, a Nutsche filter remains a simpler, lower-cost way to isolate and wash a solid product.
Construction
Slurry is fed onto a perforated filter plate lined with filter cloth, and filtrate is drawn through under vacuum or low pressure while the solid cake builds on top. Nozzle connections allow wash liquor to be added and drawn through the cake in the same vessel, giving reasonably efficient washing without needing to transfer the cake to a separate step.
Typical Use
Nutsche filters of this type are used for isolating and washing crystalline API and intermediate products where a simpler, lower-cost alternative to a fully agitated ANFD is sufficient for the process, particularly where the product is later dried in a separate dedicated dryer rather than in the same vessel.
Upgrading Later
