Where drying speed and consistent particle characteristics matter more than gentle handling, a fluid bed dryer is usually the fastest route to a dry, free-flowing product.
How Fluid Bed Drying Works
Hot air is blown upward through a bed of wet granules, suspending (fluidising) the particles so every particle is surrounded by hot air on all sides. This gives much faster, more uniform drying than a static tray dryer, where only the exposed surface of the cake is directly exposed to hot air. A cyclone separator recovers fine powder carried in the exhaust air stream before it is lost or needs separate scrubbing.
